[edit] Time at Mt. Cashel Orphanage

In the 1990s, criminal proceedings began against members of the Christian Brotherhood in Newfoundland. The proceedings were based on allegations of sexual and physical abuse against boys at the Mount Cashel Orphanage. It was alleged that the Brothers were allowed to escape prosecution at the time (1980s) if they left Newfoundland[3].

[edit] Time at Saint Thomas Moore Collegiate (British Columbia)

Several Brothers left Newfoundland and went to teach at Saint Thomas Moore collegiate in British Columbia. These included French, as well as Jospeh Burke, Edward English, and Kevin Short[4].

The subsequent lawsuits[5] by the Mount Cashel victims against the Christian Brothers organization threatened to close STMC in 2004[6]. The story received considerable press coverage and was covered as widely as in Pakistan[7].

[edit] Whereabouts

French may have been living in the Caribbean nation of the Commonwealth of Dominica in 2000.
