Edward Cowan

Edward James McKenzie Cowan (born 16 June 1982) is a cricketer who has played for the British Universities, New South Wales and Oxford UCCE teams. He is a left handed batsman who debuted in 2005 for the NSW Blues side. Edward earned his place in the State side after four seasons with Sydney University. During this time Cowan averaged above 50 runs per game. A highlight of his career was his maiden first class century, scored against the touring Zimbabwe Test side, whilst he was playing for Oxford University in England.

Edward attended Cranbrook School Sydney where he played in the school 1st XI aged only 14, and scored 218 not out representing New South Wales at the Under-17 national championship. Whilst in Year 12 Edward was selected to play for the Australian under 19s side to tour Sri Lanka.

Greg Matthews called for his selection in Australia's 2004 Tour of India.
