Educational music, largely a form of children's music, has been shown in research to promote learning.[1] Additionally, music study in general has been shown to improve academic performance of students.[2][3] Prominent examples include songs from Sesame Street, Schoolhouse Rock, and Tom Lehrer's songs for the PBS show The Electric Company.

A good source for information on educational music is Songs For Teaching, which provides lyrics, sound clips, recommendations, and an online store. There are many types of educational music some of which include fictional and non-fictional, these are differinination by describing about different materials.
