Edmund T. Pratt, Jr.

Edmund T. Pratt, Jr. was the Chairman and CEO of Pfizer Inc. for 20 years. He also served as a trustee of Duke University from 1977 to 1988, and is the namesake of Duke's Edmund T. Pratt School of Engineering. A magna cum laude graduate of Duke - who relied on a U.S. Navy scholarship to fund his education - Pratt donated $35 million to the university in 1999. Pratt died of cancer on September 5, 2002 at the age of 75.
