Edmund Ludwik Żaliński

Edmund Ludwik Żaliński, Zalinski (b. 13 December 1849 in Kórnik, d. 11 March[1] 1909 in Rochester, New York[1]) was a Polish constructor and inventor. During the period time of the 1861-1865 he was a participant in the American Civil War on the Union side. In 1872-1876, he was a lecturer on the art of war at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Edmund was a co-constructor of submarines (along with John Philip Holland in 1880). He invented the pneumatic torpedo cannon.
