Edmonston is a town in Prince George's County, Maryland, in the United States. As of the 2000 census, the town population was 959.

Edmonston is located at 38°57′3″N, 76°56′0″W (38.950793, -76.933423)^GR1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 1.0 km² (0.4 mi²). 1.0 km² (0.4 mi²) of it is land and 0.1 km² (0.04 mi²) of it (5.13%) is water.

As of the census^GR2 of 2000, there were 959 people, 303 households, and 216 families residing in the town. The population density was 1,000.7/km² (2,591.0/mi²). There were 330 housing units at an average density of 344.4/km² (891.6/mi²). The racial makeup of the town was 43.59% White, 41.08% African American, 0.52% Native American, 1.36% Asian, 10.32% from other races, and 3.13% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 19.19% of the population.

There were 303 households out of which 37.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 47.2% were married couples living together, 16.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 28.7% were non-families. 21.5% of all households were made up of individuals and 7.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 3.17 and the average family size was 3.69.

In the town the population was spread out with 31.0% under the age of 18, 8.4% from 18 to 24, 31.7% from 25 to 44, 21.2% from 45 to 64, and 7.7% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 34 years. For every 100 females there were 94.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 96.4 males.

The median income for a household in the town was $52,813, and the median income for a family was $56,875. Males had a median income of $35,966 versus $33,846 for females. The per capita income for the town was $19,830. About 1.9% of families and 6.0% of the population were below the poverty line, including 1.0% of those under age 18 and 8.4% of those age 65 or over.

Edmonston has a police department, consisting of 6 police officers. The Edmonston Police Department is the primary law enforcement agency in the town. The Prince George's County Police also have jurisdiction in the town, and are often called upon for manpower or technical assistance.
