Wwwwolf (talk contribs) I'm not running to be an admin right now (maybe some time in future, but not unless someone else thinks it's a good idea), but I'd like some feedback on how I've been doing. I've been an editor since May 2004 (may have lurked before that for some time, and didn't get here actively until some time afterward). The thing is, I'm kind of a gnomeperson. I have doubts if I'm being useful at all on the article space... aside of just being a loud, annoying deletion lawyer. Or would even that be accurate? Anyway, people rarely just stop by and tell I've been doing well; I wonder if this is just because I'm not doing really big things all the time and thus not visible enough for people to remember me, or is it an indication of something far more sinister. Please, also bring up any dirt and tell me what I shouldn't do, too.

Reviews

  • You're a great editor, though I recommend that you should participate in more WikiProjects, Portals, and other community activities. --TBC 15:30, 10 May 2006 (UTC)
  • If you'd like to have some challenge at editing, try new page patrolling, where you'll find yourself quickly getting familiar with sorting, tagging and process (such as prod). - Mailer Diablo 07:27, 14 May 2006 (UTC)

Questions

  1. Of your articles or contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?
Well, some examples: Exult, which I started, seems to have turned into somewhat interesting article; an example of an article which I expanded considerably would be Legend of the Green Dragon. A smaller example would be GtkRadiant - currently a good example of an article about a software program I don't know a lot about, but can provide some information about. I'm not saying these are really hugely great, just that they've stuck in my mind as an example of articles that I've worked on and have turned out to be pretty decent and informative, not small thanks to my input.
  2. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
I don't think there's been real conflicts over editing; I have ended up in debates in AfDs. And sometimes, of course, policy issues have made me not smile. But as far as debates go, I try to keep calm and explain things the best I can; maybe my biggest problem is that I can't shut up in due time. As far as policy issues go, I tend to handle these with "oh well, it can't be that bad" after a while (a good example would be the recent Wikibooks game guide ban - was a bit mad at first, but now, I see what was the point, why it was decided that way, and agree with the decision - especially when the work was properly relocated to a more appropriate wiki). It's usually the same. I try to be calm and rational. I think it's working, but I'm not sure if people agree.
