Master_of_Puppets (talk contribs) I've been around for a while, and while I have a slight idea of what needs to be done, I'd like to hear other's opinions about myself. And don't pull any punches. ;) _-M o P-_ 01:09, 19 April 2006 (UTC)

  • I have seen this user around alot and I have to say he is a good calm headed user, who seems to always assume good faith, and he is kind to others. ILovEPlankton 01:48, 19 April 2006 (UTC)
  • Always seen nothing but the positive from this user. If your thinking about running on RFA than I would wait for at least a few more moths just so no one pulls the "too soon" card on you. ;-) Assumes god faith very often. Perfect so far. Keep it up! Moe ε 04:46, 19 April 2006 (UTC)
    • Keep up the good editing and get at least 1000 article contributions and I'll nominate you myself for RfA. Jedi6-(need help?) 04:57, 19 April 2006 (UTC)
  • I know this editor and like him. He is patient, calm and helpful. You need more article, talk and Wikipedia edits. Can't determine how many more as the edit counter is down. Give yourself time to get those and you will be a great candidate.--Dakota ~ 05:07, 19 April 2006 (UTC)
  • This users one of the best i've come across and certainly one of the coolest one around... We need cool heads like these so that we dont loose our cool.. Perfect record till now... hope you stay the same.. :-D ...Jayant,17 Years,Indiacontribs 05:14, 19 April 2006 (UTC)
  • MoP was among the first to greet me when I first joined Wikipedia. Since that time, I've known him to be open, easygoing, and friendly. My interactions with him have been limited, mostly due to the sporadic nature of my own activity, but if I had a problem or question, he would be one of the first three people I'd go to for help. —CKA3KA (Skazka) 06:11, 19 April 2006 (UTC)
  • From my experience, MoP is a very civil wikipedian, whenever I've stumbled across him it has been in a good light. His editing also seems well balanced. -- Banez 07:02, 19 April 2006 (UTC)
  • I find MoP to be a highly valuable & helpful member of the Wiki community. He was one of the users who helped me when I was new here & is an a true Esperanzian. He is a fun user to interact with & is very approachable. I believe that edit counts don't matter that much when considering a candidate for adminship. If the member displays a sense of dedication & helpfulness to Wikipedia (as MoP has) he deserves the 'MoP'! Srikeit(talk ¦ ) 07:44, 19 April 2006 (UTC)
  • Very civil, calm-headed user, fun to talk to. — nathanrdotcom (TCW) 08:01, 19 April 2006 (UTC)
  • Good editor. Very helpful, patient, and kind — MoP is the sort who takes the extra steps of kindness. Fun to talk to, as Nathan as said. Per Srikeit about MoP deserving the 'MoP'! —Mirlen 16:38, 19 April 2006 (UTC)
  • Despite our heated exchanges on my talk page recently, he seems like a sincere guy. since i've never viewed his edits i will take everyone else's word about his contributions. Drmagic 19:04, 19 April 2006 (UTC)
  • I think that Master of Puppets is one of the most helpful Wikipedians. He has helped answer quite a few of my questions. I have not checked his contributions, but I can tell that he is an important Wikipedian regardless. If he runs for administrator, I'd vote for him. Evan Robidoux 21:51, 19 April 2006 (UTC)
  • MoP has definitely been an asset to the community since he joined. He's friendly, courteous, and helpful, but there's nothing much to say about that after all the comments above. :P I hope I can offer you some tips about editing though:
Be careful not to mark (nearly) all of your edits as minor ones. As stated on Help:Minor edit, "It is often a matter of personal judgment, but generally implies trivial changes only, such as typo corrections, formatting and presentational changes and rearranging of text without changing any content. By contrast, a major edit makes the article worth reviewing for anyone who watches it closely. Therefore, any change that affects the meaning of an article is not minor, even if it involves one word." This being said, many of your edits are not minor, and marking them like that almost trivializes your contributions.
While having excellent communication skills isn't a bad thing, a large portion of your contributions are to the User talk namespace. Try to be more active in the article and Wikipedia namespaces; Wikipedia:Articles for deletion and the Active Wiki Fixup Projects can be good places to start.
These are only a few things for you to consider. You've done awesome work so far; please keep it up! By the way, have you seen the Esperanza admin coaching program? :) Regards, Sango123 (e) 22:24, 19 April 2006 (UTC)
  • As per above. MoP has done a lot of great work on Wikipedia so far, and a brief glance through his contributions show excellent user interaction, and helpful article space contributions. Although, as per Sango123, you should focus more on article edits, then on user talk and user. TDS (talkcontribs) 03:54, 20 April 2006 (UTC)
  • Good work. Judging by his prominence I thought he would have had more edits than that? Good levels of interaction, helpful user.ßlηguγΣη | Have your say!!! 05:57, 20 April 2006 (UTC)
  • A very civil and nice person. He's still young and bursting with optimism and positive energy, unlike some grumpy ol' whiners like me. (-: Engages in discussions, attempts at mediations and is very helpful. Finally, MoP is also a good editor. Misza13 T C 19:05, 20 April 2006 (UTC)
  • MoP has always been civil and helpful to me - an asset to the Wikipedia community. ConDemTalk 22:36, 20 April 2006 (UTC)
  • A solid, rising editor. — Deckiller 16:35, 21 April 2006 (UTC)
  • No complaints...always civil, and ready to please...he even changed his userpage after I suggested ORANGE was a little bright! ;) I mean, I'm sure he didn't do it just because I asked, but still... I would support for RfA if he so chose (sp? long "o") to accept one.--ViolinGirl 20:42, 22 April 2006 (UTC)
  • My experience with this editor has been overwhelmingly positive. He gave me a very warm welcome and offered advice and wikitools without expectation for anything in return. He does a great job, in my opinion, of helping to revert vandalism. I've worked with him on the Guild Wars page and a few related pages, and I have found he always assumes good faith and makes valuable contributions. He also left me easter eggs ;) FAE 02:08, 27 April 2006 (UTC)
  • Increase your focus to the mainspace. You edit very well and I think you could take an article of your interest to WP:FA. -- Samir (the scope) धर्म 07:52, 30 April 2006 (UTC)

Questions

  1. Of your articles or contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?
Answer Most of my contributions are minor, but I do feel a bit of pride in welcoming users, fighting vandalism, and some revamping of the Guild Wars article.
  2. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
Answer I have never at all been stressed about any users, nor have any caused me stress; I find it is very difficult to provoke real anger in myself. However, if I was stressed in the future, I would very likely try to solve it by myself without dragging other people into a black hole. I have been in a few conflicts, but always with vandals.
  3. The Star Wars articles are extremely difficult to maintain, merge, trim, and organize. We're nowehre near completion. What do you think should be done to help this issue out? — Deckiller 21:04, 19 April 2006 (UTC)
Anwser Well, the best case scenario would be rounding up all the users in the project and seeing who knows what area of Star Wars (i.e. EU experts, game experts, etc.), and also thinning out the herd by seeing who is active and such. The ones with no particular area of expertise could help merging or stub sorting. Then, people could be given assignments in one general area, and no due date, but just an encouragement to complete that area; potentially, this system would allow a quicker method of operation than a free-for-all melee of people bumping into each other and doing not so much. I would be willing to cooperate to the fullest. _-M o P-_ 01:28, 21 April 2006 (UTC)
