J_Di (talk • contribs) I've been a registered Wikipedia user for a few months, but I feel as though I'm not doing as much as I could or should be doing. I'd just like to know what other people think of me as a Wikipedian, and what I could be doing better, or at all.

• Oh, wow. You've made, at the time of writing, 10379 edits.. but you don't feel like you're doing enough? Wow. Just, wow. :) Okay, time for some specific suggestions:
  • Firstly, your contributions to vandal fighting/maintenance/etc are excellent, and I don't really have much to suggest here.
    • My only comment here is that you could probably be more lenient on vandals in the future, per diffs like this. Mindspillage has a lot to say on handling vandals, and you might like to consider a more gentle approach in the future (ie, run through the full range of test templates - or, in this case, start with npa-2 - before reaching the "final warning" one).
  • That said, you might find it useful to contribute to something like WP:RFA as well as your current involvement in AfDs, or perhaps something like Deletion Review. The latter, in particular, would give you a chance to become involved in the flip side of article deletions, which is just as valuable as the deletion nomation process.
  • Are you considering a Request for Adminship? On the assumption that you are, I'd guess your chances at success are very high. Your record (from a five minute look, at 3am) looks pretty amazing, and it'd be difficult to argue that you're inexperienced. Thank you for your review. About the diff you provided, that user had been using many different IPs, and over the various IPs the person had been using to make edits to articles, they had already surpassed a final warning, so I felt I was acting appropriately in giving a single warning to them. Also, that edit summary probably didn't get read quite the way I meant it when I was typing it; I didn't mean for it to seem aggressive. _{talk to} JD ^{wants e-mail} 17:16, 26 August 2006 (UTC)

Fair enough - that's a reasonable enough explanation. It wasn't the edit summary I was concerned about - it was pretty much what I would have written - but rather, what I perceived to be newbie-biting. My mistake. :) RandyWang (^chat/_patch) 17:41, 26 August 2006 (UTC)

Haha, I've been thinking about it again, but I want to see what stuff I might be able to improve on before another nomination first. Also, some people might think that it's been too soon since my last RfA. But it's the first thing that I'm more concerned about; that is, other things I can improve on. Questions

1. Of your contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?

   Most of my edits are to Big Brother articles, so I think they're probably the ones I'm most pleased about; although even then I don't feel I contribute much to them.

2. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?

   I haven't been involved in any conflicts recently, but I have been in the past with two editors, both of whom are now indefinitely blocked. I don't think I handled that situation well, and my RfA showed me even more that I could have done a much better job of resolving those issues. Since then, I've only had minor problems with other users, and they've all been worked out, mostly through e-mail.
