Computerjoe (talk contribs) I've been active at the Wikipedia since December 2005, and registered since that month in 2004. In that time, I've amounted over 9000 edits, but failed 3 RfAs (but have got nominated numerous occasions in the past few months, rejecting each nomination). I'm thinking of going to RfA in a few months, but I may not. I am currently undergoing admin coaching Computerjoe's talk 20:35, 3 September 2006 (UTC)

Reviews

  • Well, now, what can I say about you? ;) Overall, I think you're doing extremely well. You've demonstratred your dedication to the project, and for that you're to be commended. In terms of improvement, I suggest you set yourself one of two challenges (assuming you haven't already): Either pick a single article that you find particularly interesting, and improve it to FA-class; or, pick ten random articles and improve the crappiest of them to an acceptable quality, each week/fortnight. Each challenge involves making major changes to article text, and should encourage you to involve yourself more in making major contributions and discussing them with other users - and that can only be a good thing. Aside from that.. jeez, I'm stumped. Um... maybe you could establish world peace, or something? You know, in your copious free time. :) Daveydweeb (chat/patch) 09:42, 4 September 2006 (UTC)

Questions

  1. Of your contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?
I am pleased with my contributions to Marske-by-the-Sea, my creation of Wikipedia:Editor review and Wikipedia:Community Justice (though I am not pleased in how it turned out). Also, I've created countless stubs, the majority of which being listed at WP:HOT. Computerjoe's talk 20:44, 3 September 2006 (UTC)
  2. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
My third RfA got me into conflict with numerous users, though I believe I remained civil at all points. Also, I've got into (off-wiki) disputes over the civility of the term listcruft [1]. I also got into disputes with Kelly Martin, regarding User:Kelly Martin/R, and my subsequent questions on her talk page in regard to her board candicacy. Also, I got into a dispute with User:Sean Black regarding his RfA.
However, the vast majority of the time I remain civil, and the disputes are minor and don't breach any policy. I believe that dispute is a positive thing: taking it is productive, well intentioned, civil and compliant to policy.
I do occasionally do work as a AMA and mediator. Computerjoe's talk 20:44, 3 September 2006 (UTC)
