[edit] Adoption
Hey E@L,
I really hope you're feeling better! By the looks of the mood spectrum on your user page, life is, you know, comme si, comme ça, which is good considering all that you went through. I'm just leaving a short note to tell you that I really appreciated the short time of being "wikiadopted" by you, and that I will no longer need to be adopted. You're going through a tough time right now, and I think I have this wikipedia thing pretty much figured out (the basics anyways). I'm actually even planning on adopting newcomers myself! I hope that we will remain wikifriends (haha that sounded really weird) and I'll be here if you need to talk about anything!
P.S. I'll also remove the userbox for the adoption on your page! :)
--lovelaughterlife♥ (user|talk) 23:59, 19 November 2006 (UTC)
- I'll definitely keep that in mind! Thanks for all your help! --lovelaughterlife♥ (user|talk) 01:52, 20 November 2006 (UTC)
Can you please tell me how to annotate my barnstars for my awards page (click the golden a of my signature)? Thank you! [I will read it when I get back] Bearly541 00:43, 20 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Esperanza WikiStress
I decided to talk to you about the whole Esperanza conflict that is going on. I am really frustrated about all the negative things that are said regarding Esperanza. Is there anything to do about it? I watched the consensus on the different programs that Esperanza offered, and one by one they're getting deleted. It's almost heartbreaking to watch the programs that other people and I have worked on before get axed for deletion. Some of the programs (the userpage awards) were actually pointless, and I agreed on the deletion, but others (Barnstar Brigade) which promoted selflessness and awareness of good in the Wikipedia community, were beneficial. This might seem like a really random rant :), but I just really am frustrated. Haha.. thanks for hearing me rant :)

[edit] re:Portail:Chimie
You! Email me now! And I know it's a bit long, but I have to check with the featured portal folks to see whether hide/show is allowed on portals. See, the point of a portal is that it acts as a sort of Main Page for a particular subject, so we have to assume that there will be people who just want a quick overview, and don't want to waste time clicking more buttons than necessary ;) But it's not a bad idea, I'll ask someone who knows more about portals than I do. riana_dzasta 12:26, 20 November 2006 (UTC)
- Apparently show/hide is a bit iffy on portals. And thanks for the compliment - to tell the truth, all I did was some rearrangement and stuff, the majority of it was done. It just needed redecorating :) I'm outta here, so take care of yourself. I'll e-mail you tomorrow. riana_dzasta 11:24, 21 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Am I really...?
Am I really this shallow? "What, you're sad now because you couldn't read for five minutes?"
And something else: The hidden messages are kind of not right. Fredil Shadows of Darkness 01:59, 21 November 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks. Working on redesigning my userpage helped a lot. Fredil Shadows of Darkness 22:35, 21 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Virtual classroom
I noticed your post about editing during your shower at the Wikipediholic clinic, and thought I'd offer you some virtual candy, to sweeten up your addiction...
As you already know, I've set up the Virtual classroom (VC), the forum for discussion of advanced Wikipedia skills. (It differs from the help forums on Wikipedia in that major topics of discussion are scheduled and once started remain continuous.)
The reason I'm contacting you is because one of the class assignments is a comparison of our user interfaces. A lot can be learned from individual users, who usually have developed their own ways of doing things. And since you are an expert editor, there's no doubt that you have some tricks up your sleeve. I'm hoping that you will stop by and share and compare the interfaces you use when browsing and working on Wikipedia. I've also constructed a tools page which presents everything learned from these discussions (tools and techniques), and it is growing -- there are some pretty powerful tips on there now. Even Interiot, Rich Farmbrough, and CBDunkerson have stopped by the VC to show off their tools and methods. It's been a lot of fun, and you are invited. The interface topics are called:
and
I look forward to seeing you there and to learning your wikiways. --TT
P.S.: Anyhow, I thought it might be a good way to take your mind off of things. Just another place for you to hang out and relax. Please feel free to contact me anytime about anything. You've got lots of fans, and I'm one of 'em. Sincerely, The Transhumanist 01:08, 22 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Username?
Sorry to read the comments you've left at the top of your userpage. Hope things get better soon, and you recover OK. I thought I'd ask you a question about your username in the meantime. It reminds me of a book I read a long time ago called Paddington at Large! :-) Carcharoth 03:28, 22 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Perhaps this will take your mind off of things...
I may have thought of a project which would be just your thing. Wikipedia talk:Esperanza#Repairing the damage. Let me know if you are interested. The Transhumanist 03:35, 22 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Quid pro quo
I forgot to thank you for the smile and the orange bar surprise (which I did like this time), so here are some hearts from me. Happy editings :-), –mysid☎ 09:28, 22 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Ahmose I is FA!
Raul654 gave his official imprimatur to the article earlier this morning. It is officially Feature Article class. Congrats! I have never seen an article fly through the FA process so quickly, which attests to the extensive editorial work you gave the article.
Thanks once again for your help -- it obviously helped! Captmondo 13:26, 22 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] some humour for you
Hi Editor at Large, this is a joke that I shared with User:Elaragirl inspired by the labels "inclusionist" and "deletionist". Feel free to share it, with attribution to me.
- This user is an annihilationist. This means that this user strongly believes that the fewer Wikipedia articles there are, the better, and in this user's ideal world, Wikipedia would have no articles at all.
- This user is a completist. This means that this user believes that because Wikipedia is not a paper encyclopedia, everything in the world should have a comprehensive and ideally featured article about it, no matter how non-notable or trivial the subject is.
I believe that most Wikipedians lie somewhere between these two extremes.
I hope that you are feeling at least a little better, but I understand if you're not. Take care, --Kyoko 14:15, 22 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] your categorisation of me
Hi there, you say that you drive me crazy. That's not right, I was messed up long before I met you. :( I'm saying that in a self-mocking, only half-kidding tone. --Kyoko 14:45, 22 November 2006 (UTC)
- I was a little bit crazy (the good crazy, if there is such a thing) before I met you too, but thanks for putting me in the "bestest bestest friends" section :-D Will (Tell me, is something eluding you, sunshine?) 17:11, 22 November 2006 (UTC)
- Oh, so that's what it means. So crazy is good, then.--Kyoko 17:18, 22 November 2006 (UTC)
Yes, all, "people I drive crazy" is a good thing... for me (I write you often and love you lots), but I'm not sure about you (I write you often and you have to reply) :-P — Editor at Large(speak) 17:20, 22 November 2006 (UTC)
- I reckon people might get jealous because I'm at the top and they aren't, though :D Will (Tell me, is something eluding you, sunshine?) 17:24, 22 November 2006 (UTC)
- Yes, well... I just did it off the top of me head, I'll go alphabetise it. — Editor at Large(speak) 17:38, 22 November 2006 (UTC)
- Even alphabeticised, I'm near the top, which is good, only below Riana, who is awesome herself :) Will (Tell me, is something eluding you, sunshine?) 23:37, 22 November 2006 (UTC)
- You people keep talking about me! I only catch the nice things, though ;p riana_dzasta 12:49, 23 November 2006 (UTC)
- That's because we can't find anything bad about you :) Will (Tell me, is something eluding you, sunshine?) 14:14, 23 November 2006 (UTC)
- You say that, and yet I've been accused of vandalism twice tonight. :o riana_dzasta 14:27, 23 November 2006 (UTC)
- Heh, by the way, I've just been informed that this came up as vandalism. I'm sorry I can't leave your userspace alone, E@L! :( riana_dzasta 12:59, 23 November 2006 (UTC)
