[edit] History
[edit] Rival Schools
Edge and his classmate Gan Isurugi are many of the gangster students at Gedo confused by the disappearance of their infamous gang 'boss', Daigo Kazama. When a new student, Akira, appears at the school, claiming to be Daigo's brother and wanting to find out where the gang leader is, Edge and Gan agree to help out the sibling of their boss. Edge initially doubted Akira's approach in their search, but eventually gained respect and trust for the sibling of his boss. Despite Akira actually turning out to be Daigo's sister, Edge accepted her and realized he could learn a lot from her.
[edit] Project Justice
At the start of Project Justice, Edge and Gan are the first to notice odd behavior from Daigo, as their feared leader demanded them to attack random students and teachers from different schools. Confused and conflicted by Daigo's orders, Edge becomes worried when Daigo orders an attack on Seijyun Girls' High School, where Akira is studying. He and Gan inform Akira of Daigo's plans; with the assistance of Akira and Zaki, they are able to fend off the attack and break Daigo out of his brainwashing. This causes another classmate of Akira's, Yurika, to reveal that Daigo was brainwashed and being controlled by Kurow. Edge, along with Gan and Daigo, confront the young ninja to make him pay for his actions. After the end of the incidents, Daigo leaves to train himself better, appointing Edge and Gan as the new 'bosses' of Gedo's gangsters while he is gone.
[edit] Trivia
- Like other Rival Schools characters, Edge is a knock-off of a character from SNK's King of Fighters series. In his case, some fans have noted similarities between him and Ryuji Yamazaki (also Benimaru Nikaido, due to having similar hairstyles).
- Edge speaks Japanese with an Osaka accent.
- According to the instruction manual and strategy guides for the U.S. version of Rival Schools, Edge hates being called by his real name. Doing so drives him berserk. That happens because he's the black sheep of a rather wealthy family, something that he abhors.
- Edge makes a cameo appearance in the under construction dojo stage of Capcom vs SNK.
- Edge also has a cameo in the Street Fighter Legends comics. He is shown driving a work truck in Issue #2.
