Ed Porray

Edmund Joseph Porray (born December 5, 1888 on a ship crossing the Atlantic Ocean - died July 13, 1954 in Lackawaxen, Pennsylvania) is a former major league pitcher. A right-handed pitcher who batted from the right side, Porray had a listed height of 5'11" and a listed weight of 170 pounds.
Porray's major league career was brief. He pitched in only 3 games, compiling a 0-1 record with a 4.35 ERA in 10 1/3 innings pitched, as a member of the 1914 Buffalo Buffeds of the Federal League.
Today, Porray is best remembered for his unusual birthplace, as he is the only Major League Baseball player to have been born at sea.
