Ecuadorian peso
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The peso was the currency of Ecuador between 1871 and 1884. It was subdivided into 100 centavos. The peso replaced the real at a rate of 8 reales = 1 peso. The majority of issues in this currency were banknotes, with only 1 and 2 centavos coins being issued (made at the Heaton mint in Birmingham). The peso was replaced by the sucre at par.
