[edit] Background

Ever since its foundation in 1990, ESC Rennes has been developing internationally and is by far, for its modest size, the most internationally focused Grande Ecole de Commerce. In 1994, ESC Rennes became officially recognized as the equivalent of a British University, thanks to its accreditation by the Open University. This gives the school the authority to award qualifications (B.A., M.A., M.B.A., PhD) of an international standard, in addition to the prestigious Sup de Co diploma. Every year, more than one in four of the students on campus come from outside France, half of these from outside Europe, while courses are taught mainly in English by Professors from all over the world - the U.S., Canada, the UK, Australia, India and many other countries. The added value of this is that it produces international profiles that answer a company's need for internationalization. Learning to work with fellow students from different cultural backgrounds and meeting people from every continent are just part of the experience that is studying at ESC Rennes. Although the business courses are generally taught in English there is also an opportunity to take some courses in French, and all international students study French culture and language as a part of their programme.
