Ecodriving

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ecodriving is a term used in Europe to name initiative which support energy efficient use of vehicles. The campaigns include training courses with hands on training- fuel gauges etc. If we focus on driving the main influences are:

  • suboptimal drive cycle (energy wasted with braking after unnecessary speeding)
  • addititional masses (snow chains, unused sport equipment in the boot etc.)
  • additional drag (luggage racks, luggage containments on the roof etc.)
  • wrong gear choice (too high RPM)
  • bad vehicle condition (tire pressure, air filter...)
