Echium wildpretii H.Pearson ex Hook.f. is a plant included in the genus Echium. It is a herbaceous biennial plant and grows up to 3 m in height and requires plenty of sun. They are endemic on the island of Tenerife, mainly in Las Cañadas del Teide.

The plant grows in the subalpine zone of the ravines of Teide. It lives during the winter months at the temperature gradient of -5 ºC. The plant requires a lot of sun and in arid and dry conditions.

The plant lives biennially. Roses foliate densely during the first year, the inflorescence erect with the height between 1 and 3 m during the second year.

The plant blooms from the end of spring and the beginning of summer in Tenerife.

This plant is used in gardens. The water temperatures are not lower than 5 °C. It is one of the plants are used for beekeeping, the plant has a great risk of pollen and nectar from other flowers.
