[edit] Summary
another shot of downtown Eau Claire, Wisconsin, a continuation to the right from here, with Christ Church Cathedral in the center and the Wells Fargo building directly "above" it. Across the street from the church, the reddish smudge is the Schlegelmilch-McDaniel House. To its right (and up a bit) is the Ramada/Holiday/Something Inn (it's changed hands half a dozen times since I was a kid, and I don't know whose its in right now) and its parking ramp (largest in Eau Claire) to its right. Just "under" the parking ramp (actually one block into the foreground, and across Farwell), is the Unitarian Universalist church. Their pastoress comes half-regularly to services at Temple Sholom. She's cool. Her name is Eleanor. To the upper right from the Unitarian Universalist church is a largely-boarded-up, now "bricked up" building, with a large antenna coming out the top, having some large odd-shaped things on top. When we were kids, my twin sister and my brother called that particular structure "the big chairs". I'm not entirely certain, so don't quote me, but I think there might be a division of the city fire department based out of that building.
