EatZi's
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
EatZi's is a chain of bakery, gourmet takeout markets, and restaurants, created by Phillip J. Romano. It is based in Dallas, Texas, and proposes high end products. There are locations in Dallas and Chicago. The chain's Atlanta, Houston, and Rockville locations abruptly closed in mid-November 2006.
EatZi's offer a wide range of specialty breads, cakes, and home meal replacements, as well as wine and cheese.
Classical music is permanently played in the markets, with an emphasis on the Four Seasons by Vivaldi. EatZi's is very cautious about competition and doesn't allow any photos inside the restaurants.
EatZi's can be compared to the gourmet takeout section of Central Market or Whole Foods Market, which can be considered as EatZi's larger competitors.
On November 16th, Eatzi's announced the immediate closing of the two Atlanta locations, as well as those in Houston and Maryland. The Dallas location, which has been purchased by Romano, and the Chicago location, which was purchased by a separate group of investors earlier, remain open. Management has not commented on the closings.
