[edit] Neutral point of view
Hi, please be sure to maintain a neutral tone in Wikipedia articles. When writing about musicians, for example, it's not considered NPOV to say something like "this is an amazing album." An acceptible alternative would be to say something like, "The album was praised by so-and-so music magazine" or "The album was their biggest seller." [edit] Image Tagging Image:EazyE-2006e.jpg
|
Thanks for uploading Image:EazyE-2006e.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then it needs to be specified where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, consider reading fair use, and then use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other media, consider checking that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. feydey 23:07, 1 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Alphaandomega.jpg)
This file may be deleted. |
Thanks for uploading Image:Alphaandomega.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image can be used under a fair use license. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BigDT 22:15, 2 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Jaime Cardriche
Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, such as Jaime Cardriche, but we regretfully cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from either web sites or printed material. This article appears to be a direct copy from http://allmovie.com/cg/avg.dll?p=avg&sql=2:10839, and therefore a copyright violation. Jaime Cardriche has been nominated for deletion. If you believe that the article is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the GFDL, you can comment to that effect on Talk:Jaime Cardriche. Then you should do one of the following: :*Make a note permitting reuse under the GFDL at the site of the original publication. :*Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions at wikimedia dot org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation. If the article has already been deleted, but you have a proper release, you can reenter the content at Jaime Cardriche, after describing the release on the talk page. However, you may want to consider rewriting the content in your own words. Thank you, and please feel free to continue contributing to Wikipedia. For more information, take a look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Happy editing! BigDT 22:26, 2 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Your image tags
Please do not use "free" image tags for non-free images. You seem to have tagged every single file you uploaded with {{GFDL-self}} even though most of them are obviously scans of album covers or images that obviously came from the internet somewhere. If you, personally, are the copyright owner of a particular piece of music and its album cover, that's fine, but if you merely scanned in a picture, that is not fine. Album covers should be tagged with {{albumcover}}. DVD covers should be tagged with {{dvdcover}}. Images that you personally do not own that do not fall into a specific fair use criterion should be tagged with {{fairusein}} and a reasonable explanation should be given. Please take a look at your image contributions [1] and revise those images with false tags. BigDT 22:36, 2 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Images
If you upload any more CD covers, please make sure to limit the size to 200 pixels wide by 200 pixels high- otherwise, the images aren't really legal for us to use. Also, please use the "album cover" option under "Licensing" when uploading CD covers. Ral315 (talk) 22:17, 13 August 2006 (UTC)
