Eastlake Football Club

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Eastlake Football Club is a semi-professional Australian rules football club based in the inner-south of Canberra, in the Australian Capital Territory.

The Demons, as they are nicknamed, compete in the AFL Canberra competition, and have been fairly successful in recent times, although in 2005 they finished 5th, missing the finals.

Their best players include Julian Farkas, who has had an impressive start to the 2006 season and Nathan Clark, who has previously had a short stint playing with professional AFL club, the Brisbane Lions.

Alex Jesaulenko is probably the most famous player to play for Eastlake. In the late 60's, Alex went to Melbourne and linked up with the Carlton football club, who he captain-coached to a premiership. He was later included in the AFL team of the century.
