Eastern Yiddish

Eastern Yiddish is a dialect of Yiddish spoken by about three million people throughout the world, predominantly Ashkenazic Jews. Its number of speakers was reduced by the Holocaust. It is the main dialect of Yiddish as the other dialect, Western Yiddish is nearly extinct. Eastern Yiddish is spoken in several countries in Eastern Europe, including Russia and Lithuania.
