Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association

The Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association (EIWA) is an NCAA Division I collegiate wrestling conference. It has been active since 1905 and has had a variety of schools as members throughout its tenure.

[edit] Recent Success
Cornell has been the most successful of these schools recently, placing fourth at the national tournmanent in 2005. Another highly respected team in the conference has been Lehigh, as the Mountain Hawks have been a consistent top ten team in the last ten years and its schedule has featured some of the nation's toughest wrestling teams. 2006 marked Lehigh University's fifth straight EIWA Championship.
The league generally has the third-highest number of All-Americans at the NCAA Championships, behind the Big Ten and Big 12.
The 2005 EIWA conference tournament marked the 100th anniversary of the conference.
