East Tennessee, Virginia and Georgia Railroad

The East Tennessee, Virginia and Georgia Railroad was an historic railroad in Georgia and Tennessee. Today it is part of the Southern Railway.
The East Tennessee, Virginia and Georgia Railroad was created in 1869 with the consolidation of the East Tennessee and Virginia Railroad (Knoxville to Bristol, TN) and the East Tennessee and Georgia Railroad (Knoxville, TN to Dalton, GA).
The Atlanta Division of the railroad from Rome to Atlanta to Macon, Georgia was added to the system in 1882 and the Rome and Decatur Railroad was added in 1890.
In 1895 the East Tennessee, Virginia and Georgia Railroad and the Richmond and Danville Railroad were merged to form the Southern Railway.
