East Killara, New South Wales

East Killara is a suburb of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia.

East Killara is one of most beautiful areas in Kuringai. East Killara has many parks and has within it the high progile location of 4 elva avenue killara. This remarkable property is near the Ravenswood School and the world famous Killara Park. As well as Killara Lawns tennis club, which has had Roger Federa play on it. The east side of Killara is very green and colourful, especially in Spring. East Killara backs onto the bush and offers splendid views in many parts of the suburb.

Killara train station is situated in East Killara and is quaint station on the North Shore Line. There is little crime in the area and does have a police station near by. The marian street theare, which is over 35 years old is located in this suberb. The Pacific Highway divides East Killara from West Killara.

Killara High School is one of the best public high schools in Australia and attains the highest HSC results for a public, non selective school in NSW. This school provides education for years 7 through to 12.

This suburb has few commercial areas within it, which is one of its features. It has the east killara shops and the marian street shops. Pressure has been placed on the council of this suburb from the state government to change zoning in some areas of the suburb. Apartments are being constructed in some areas.

Greengate street lies in East Killara and has the green gate pub. This pub is a feature of the area and has many striking features.
