East Gippsland Shire

East Gippsland Shire is a Local Government Area in Gippsland, Victoria, Australia. It is located in the eastern part of the state. It includes the towns of Allenvale, Bairnsdale, Benambra, Bruthen, Buchan, Ensay, Lakes Entrance, Mallacoota, Metung, Omeo, Orbost, Paynesville and Swifts Creek. It has an area of 20,931.2 square kilometres. In 2001 it had a population of 38,028.
