East End Danforth
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
East End Danforth is a neighbourhood in the city of Toronto (Canada), which some would refer to as "The Danforth" or "Danforth". The city, on the other hand has classified East End Danforth as the area to the East of Woodbine, to the North of Kingston Road, West of Victoria Park and stretching a couple blocks North of Danforth.
While the Danforth is quite commonly associated with Greek Town, East Danforth is stretched beyond the Greek borders and is home to more Chinese than any other visible minority in the area, although as thge largest area minority even that figure is below 8%, making it a fairly non-diverse area by Toronto standards.
Residents in the neighbourhood are primarily middle income earners, although there is a healthy mix across the spectrum. And not only with the incomes, the housing types range from 30 story apartment buildings to single detached homes with a near equal split across most housing types. The area is served by the Danforth GO station, below Main St. between Gerrard and Danforth in addition to the Woodbine and Main Street subway stations on the Bloor-Danforth line.
