Earthworm Jim PSP (working title) is an entirely new game based on the original Earthworm Jim game for SNES and Sega Genesis. It will be a retelling of the original Earthworm Jim game, but neither a port nor a remake. So far, there has been a level resembling "New Junk City" confirmed, as well as a level called "The Birds and the Bees", chronicling a war between the two factions. Jim also has new moves, including "rocket boots" and the "Battery of the Gods", a power-up which sends Jim into a "super mode", in which he can fly, is invulnerable, and can execute powerful melee combos. It is being developed by Shiny Entertainment, the team behind the original 2D games, and published by Atari. The game will have multiplayer support, where two players will be able to compete with each other for high scores. There will be new characters as well. The only one confirmed so far is "Tapeworm Slim", whose role in the game is secret. The game's 12 levels will contain plenty of secrets and different types of game play. It is tentatively scheduled for release in March 2007.
