Earth Observation refers to the use of sensors onboard artificial satellites to measure properties of the Earth. It is essentially Remote Sensing of the Earth.

Earth observation satellites take pictures or measurements of the earth. They can be used for:
.weather forecasting . making maps . scientific research like finding temperatures of sea land... . spying in other countries to find out where their armies or airfield are.
