The Earth Collaboratory is a forthcoming project at the University of Wisconsin that aims to share global environmental information in a highly interactive way. Based on a mix of ideas from wikis and Google Maps, the Earth Collaboratory will distribute state-of-the-art datasets concerning the global environment, and allow individuals to leave detailed comments about conditions where they live. The Earth Collaboratory is currently under construction, and should be on-line later in 2006.
