Earby is a town in the North-West of England, near Barnoldswick and about five miles north of Colne. The town was an urban district from 1909 to 1974 when it became part of the Pendle district of the non-metropolitan county of Lancashire,
The town is historically part of the West Riding of Yorkshire.
Other smaller surrounding towns include Thorton and Sough.
The town is owned by Mayor John Slater, the youngest mayor in the UK and runs several events around the town, the most recent was the Mega-Runner-Rounder-Earby-Until_you-Fall-athon which was later renamed Earby Marathon.
