Eamus catuli

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Eamus Catuli appears on a sign on one of the rooftops behind Wrigley Field, home of the baseball team the Chicago Cubs. Because many Cubs' game are telecast on cable/satellite television, this notable sign is seen throughout the world. The phrase is Latin:

E.amus: [v.] to go, walk; to march, advance; eamus is the subjunctive meaning "let us go"

Catul.i: [n. plural] young of any animal, pup/cub

Thus, the sign says: "Let's go, cubs!"
