Eagle's Minimal Essential Medium (EMEM) is a cell culture medium by Harry Eagle.

It contains:

A variation of this EMEM, called DMEM, (Dulbecco/Vogt Modified Eagle's Minimal Essential Medium), which contains approximately four times as much of the vitamins and amino acids present in the original formula and two to four times more glucose. Additionally, it contains iron. DMEM is suitable for most types of cells, including human, monkey, hamster, rat, mouse and chicken cells.
