[edit] Unloading the EA Downloader
I am not found of having a bunch of software running in the task tray. How do I get the EA downloader to quit auto loading? How does removing it from the task tray affect my game session?
Click on Edit, then Auto Start, then untick the box that says Start Automatically and click OK. Having it not run does not affect your game play at all. --WikiCats 10:53, 8 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Bottleneck downloads
This isn't suitable for this article. If Wikipedia was distributed through BT it wouldn't have bandwidth problems either. If it was hosted on more servers it would be faster as well, but neither of those are facts you'd add to its article. This is information about BT, not EA Downloader. Perhaps if someone can find evidence that EA are working to integrate BT it is worthy of inclusion, but otherwise it's just not relevant information. --Tom Edwards 09:17, 11 September 2006 (UTC)
- I just don't get it. I get slow downloads and often get my downloads queued. I think that is a problem, and I don't see why there only should be advantages. That's not a very objectiv POV if you ask me (as a journalist). Sure, BitTorrent is kind of speculative, but there's still a real problem with the bandwith when many people tries to download, and for me that's a disadvantage. I still use EA Downloader, but I don't see only advantages. If I had a disc I would never have to wait to install the game, but now I sometimes have to wait.
- So why shouldn't the fact that sometimes you can't download be relevant information? --Swedan 11:17, 11 September 2006 (UTC)
- The fact that you can't is indeed relevant, as the edit notes on my first reversion state. My issue is with the rest of the bullet point. --Tom Edwards 16:11, 12 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Games?
Should we add the games the downloader currently has? Gamerzworld 21:59, 5 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Another way to install on Win2000
Run it with the -a at the command line Such as (if setup.exe is the installer) setup.exe -a Maybe someone should write it in the article?
[edit] EA Downloader => EA Link
Someone ought to rename 'EA Downloader' to 'EA Link' throughout the article. Especially 'bugs' section has many references to the old name. Jesperborgstrup 19:06, 26 November 2006 (UTC)
