Ea (digraph)

ea is a digraph used in many languages. In English, ea usually represents the /i/ sound as in meat and bead. It can also represent the /eh/ sound as in "head", "instead", lead and spread, the /?/ sound as in "earth", and the /?/ sound as in "fear".
