e107 is an open source content management system (CMS) for creating and managing websites through a simple web interface.

The system may work on earlier versions of PHP, but it has only been formally tested on 4.4.4.

PHP must have been compiled with support for MySQL in order to successfully run e107. Apache is recommended for running e107, but any server technology that is compatible with PHP and MySQL should work. Works with Windows NT based servers, IIS, MySQL and PHP. There is a question if MS-SQL will work in the setup. This is called WISP (Windows, IIS, SQL Server, and Php) as opposed to LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP).
