Dynamos Football Club is a soccer club based in Harare, Zimbabwe. they are also known as DeMbare. It remains the highest supported club in the country dispite all the ownership wrangles that had threatened to tear the team apart. The club suffered bankrupcy and was near collapse in administration Morrison Sifelani who himself was declared insolvency because he couldn't administer his own personal affairs.

Highlanders FC remains the greatest rival


The club reached the final of the 1998 African Champions League,they lost to Asec Mimosas of Ivory Coast(4-2)the only club to achieve this feat in the country, and only the second in southern Africa since Orlando Pirates of South Africa in 1995.It is probably one of the biggest& most supported teams Southern Africa has ever seen.

Dynamos has produced some of the biggest names in the game since 1963 some of which include Kuda Muchemei, Oliver Kateya, Jimmy "Daddy" Finch, Watson"Guard" Muhoni, George "Mastermind" Shaya , Earnst Kamba, Gift "Ghetto" Mupariwa, Elvis "Chuchu" Chiweshe, David "Yogi" Mandigora, Makwinji Soma-Phiri, Freddy Mkwesha, Vitalis "Digital" Takawira, Claudius "Hokoyo" Zviripayi, Tauya "Flying Doctor" Murehwa, Moses "Bambo/Razor Man" Chunga, Sunday "Mhofu" Marimo, Mishek Marimo, Desmond "Gazza" Maringwa, Tonderayi "Stanza" Ndiraya, Samson "Grade One" Choruwa, Sandras "Chopper" Kumwenda, Lloyd "Samaita" Mutasa, Lovemore "Magents" Ncube and most recently Evans "Earthquake/Maromo" Gwekwerere. Mismanagement and Management squabbles have seen the club failing to win any major silverware since last winning the league in 1997.

Formed in the high density suburb of Mbare in Harare(1963),where it derives its nickname DeMbare,the idea being muted by Sam Dauya.Of late the club has seen its fortunes nosedive.Being a community club-perennial disagreements in the club's executive has affected the performances on the field.

Some of the most notable persons to coach Dynamos FC are Clemens Westerhof{helped Nigeria's cause at the 1994 world cup finals},

Sunday "Mhofu" Marimo - he won 5 league championiships,the team came second in 1998 African Champions league{took Zimbabwe to her maiden appearance at AFCON 2004 in Tunisia}.
