Dworzec Gdański (Warsaw Metro)

Metro Dworzec Gdański (Gdańsk Train Station) is the 17th station of the first line of the Warsaw Metro. Located beneath the Warszawa Gdańska railway station, at the junction of Słomińskiego and Andersa streets, it is one of the major transport hubs in the northern part of the city of Warsaw. It was opened to the public on December 20, 2003.

The A-17 Dworzec Gdański, as it is called in official papers, is a two-storey station, with a single central platform located on the lower level. The platform, serving commuters travelling both northwards and southwards, is 12 metres wide and 120 metres long. The overall length of the station itself is 156 and the width is 20,4 metre. Both ends of the station are equipped with escalators and stairs, as well as elevators. The gallery above the station contains shops, a police station and a ticket office. It also serves as a street crossing below the Słomińskiego street.

The municipal transport hub within walking distance from the station includes the bus stops of lines 103, 406, 500 and E-1, the tramway stop of the lines 1, 2, 4, 6, 16 and 36, as well as several private lines. The direct underground link with the railway station is not yet operational.
