Narrow-leaved hawkweed (Hieracium umbrellatum) is a common sight in the Rockies. Its tall (up to a metre) stalks and dandelion-type blossoms make it easily identifiable. Its stalk contains a latex which was used by local tribes as chewing gum, but the plant has no notable medicinal properties. It is also sometimes called "Canada hawkweed".
