Dwight Lowery

Dwight Lowery (born in Santa Cruz, CA) is an american football defensive back.

Lowery is a first team AFCA and FWAA All-America cornerback for San Jose State University who led the nation in 2006 with 9 interceptions.

He previously attended Cabrillo College in Aptos, CA where he played conerback and special teams for the Seahawks. During Lowery's Freshman season at the JUCO, he recieved All State defensive back honors and lead California in INTs (9). His Sophmore season was cut short with a hand injury but not before he managed to steal 4 more interceptions. He left Cabrillo with 13 picks in 15 games.

Lowery prepped at Soquel High School in Santa Cruz, CA. He was an All Santa Cruz Athletic League Running Back for the Knights his senior year, while breaking the schools scoring record for A single season (25 Touchdowns) and the Counties Single Game Scoring Record (7 TD; 5 rushing, 1 recieving and a returned Interception for the games final score). Dwight was an All League defensive back his junior and senior year having 20 interceptions in 20 games. He was also known for laying a devistating hit on the leagues most valuable player Efren Lomeli when a late flat pass came his way.

Dwight was also well known for his Basketball success and was a 4 year player on the varsity squad. He earned league MVP honors his junior year, leading his team well into the Central Coast Section Playoffs.
