Arnica (Arnica spp.) blooms mid-June through August in both montane and subalpine evergreen forests. It bears large, bright yellow ray flowers, and the Rocky Mountain region hosts several species, most commonly the heart-leaved arnica (A. cordifolia), the broad-leafed arnica (A. latifolia), and the narrow-leafed arnica (A. fulgens).
