The dwarf codling, Notophycis marginata, is a morid cod of the family Moridae, found in the southeast Pacific and the southwest Atlantic between latitudes 32°S and 61°S, and around New Zealand, and New South Wales and Tasmania in Australia, to depths of up to 1,200 m.

The dwarf codling has large eyes and a chin barbel. Coloration is pale pinkish, the dorsal fin dusky distally, and a dark spot at the tip of the first dorsal fin. Usually, the unpaired fins are margined with black.
