Dutch Settlement, Nova Scotia
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Dutch Settlement is a community in the Northwestern corner of the Musquodoboit Valley within the Halifax Regional Municipality Nova Scotia on the Shubenacadie River, off Nova Scotia Route 277. Named oringinally called Keyes after William Keys (Keyes) in 1786. The present name comes from the fact that a number of Germans moved to the area and the word "Deutsch" was anglicized to "Dutch."
