Gay abstract artist, "durkART" was born in Chicago Ill in 1960. All his life he loved to draw, create, and doodle. In the late 70's he discovered the Chicago nightlife and he loved it. The Dance Clubs, Carols Speakeasy, Duggan's Bistro, Ozone. He loved the music, lights, energy. He also liked the Leather Bars, Gold Coast, Touches, Meat Market. Which gave him a sense of erotic mysticism. Both gave him a sense of communities coming together, helping each other. Then 80's came, AIDS hit Chicago Hard. Durk lost many of his closest friends to the disease. He met his partner in 1990, and in 1999 they both moved to Orlando Fl. durkART continually takes workshops at Crealde School of ART and Maitland School of ART (both in Central Florida) to expand on his artist talents, where he continues to doodle, draw full of life, energetic creations. His goal is to bring out that manic positive energy of his earlier years -- the dance clubs, the leather clubs - his goal is to harness that manic energy within and put it on blank canvas. He has hosted many artistic shows in the Orlando Florida Area and he is known internationally for his manic artistic style.
