Durood

Whenever a Muslim reads/speaks/hears the name of the Islamic prophet Muhammad, he prays a specific hadith called Darood or Durood described in the books of hadiths. These Daroods are in accordance with the words of Muhammad.


This is the darood=e=Ibrahimi

allāhumma Salli calā muHammadin wa calā āli muHammad kamā Sallayta calā ibrāhīma wa calā āli ibrāhīma innaka Hamīdun majīd; allāhumma bārik calā muHammadin wa calā āli muHammad kamā bārakta calā ibrāhīma wa calā āli ibrāhīma innaka Hamīdun majīd.

Which may be translated as: O God! Send blessings upon Muhammad and upon the House of Muhammad as You sent blessings upon Abraham and upon the House of Abraham; indeed, You are praiseworthy and glorious. O God! Bless Muhammad and the House of Muhammad as You blessed Abraham and the House of Abraham; indeed, You are praiseworthy and glorious.


Excellence and Virtues of Durood   

Ten sins are forgiven

Ten virtues are written for the reciter

The rank is raised in Paradise

The reciter is protected from Hypocrisy (Nifaaq)

Causes of Light at thr Bridge of Siraat

Saved from distress and calamities on the Day of Qiyamah

Granted Shade under the Arsh of Allah Ta'ala

Closeness to RasulAllah on the Day of Qiyamah

Purifies the heart and removes the rust of sin illuminates the heart

Grants safety on the Day of Qayimah

It is one of the most blessed of Deeds

Ten Mercies will be bestowed upon the reciter

Shafa'at of RasulAllah on the Day of Qiyamah

One will be present at the Haud-e-Kauthar

Excellence and Beauty at Meetings

Gets rid of poverty and hardship

Alaah Ta'ala, His Angels and RasulAllah also send blessings into the reciter

It is a sure and certain worship of Allah Ta'ala

It is of benefit in this world and the Hereafter

It creates love for the reciter in the hearts of other persons

The reciter is safe from backbiters
