Durgavati

Rani Durgavati was born in 1524 A.D. in the famous Chandella family, the daughter of Keerat Rai at Kalanjar (Banda, UP). In 1542, she married Dalpatshah, of the Gond Dynasty of Garha-Mandala.
She faught Akbar's general Asaf Khan and was killed during the war in 1564, after having ruled for fifteen years.
