Duntroon is a small town in Ontario, about 10 minutes south of Collingwood. It has a population of about 60 or 70. Duntroon is best known for its golf course, the Duntroon Highlands Golf Club. It is also home to the Highlands Nordic cross-country skiing facility. Duntroon used to be the home to many fierce baseball games up until about year 2000, when people declined from using the small diamond. It has since grown a lot of grass in the infield, and has a rough look to it.

Duntroon has an elementary school, it has a Rug store, and Georgian Aggregates a satellite of Walker Industries, an aggregate company is also stationed at the top of the notorious Duntroon hill. The Duntroon hill has been the leading cause of hundreds of accidents from dumptrucks, as it is very steep and sharp and is located on a gravel deposit which draws many dumptrucks to its peak. Many trucks lose their brakes coming down the long steep hill. Although scenic, it can turn deadly if drivers do not exercise extreme caution and use their brakes sparingly.

A tale is told that if a truck knows that its brakes have been lost while barrelling down the hill, trucks are to rigourosly honk their horns on the way down the hill, and owner of the gas station at the bottom of the Hill, Mr. Hennessey will run out of the store and stop traffic so that the brakeless trucks can go through the ever so busy intersection safely. This intersection, marked by stoplights, is a very dangerous intersection, as two steep hills meet at it, one being the county road 124 which spans from Collingwood south, past the city of Guelph, ON. It is a very heavily used road in the winter. Only experienced drivers dare to drive the Duntroon hill in the winter, due to the extreme driving conditions.
