Dunsandel, New Zealand

The town of Dunsandel is on the Canterbury Plains in New Zealand's South Island. It is on State Highway 1 halfway between Christchurch and Ashburton.
Being just south of the Selwyn River, Dunsandel is a junction town sited on State Highway One. Roads to Leeston, Southbridge and Hororata all leave from here. As well, the town provides an important refreshment stop for main road travellers with excellent eateries and coffee shops.
The town is located just to the south of the South Island's main army base at Burnham.
Dunsandel is both a support town for the rural hinterland and a supply town for the travelling public - vets, vehicle supply and maintenance as well as excellent coffees and eats. It also has a world famous dog dosing strip.
Two very interesting people, Peter and Kathy Hill are moving to Tramway Road in this town in February 2007. Peter is a painter of many years experience and is available for quotes on his current Rolleston phone number. A Dunsandel number will be posted when known.
The town is the home to the mighty Dunsandel Cricket Club. The club's 'A' team has a reputation as one of the premiere teams in the Ellesmere district. In 2005 the club was lucky enough to secure the contract of star all-rounder, William Chambers, who has proven to be a valuable asset.
