Dundaga

Dundaga is a large rural community in Talsu county, Latvia.

Dundaga is famous for its castle, the construction of which was started in 1249 by the crusaders of Livonian Order from Riga. From the 16th until the 20th century, Dundagas Castle was the centre of the large private estate of Kurzeme (Courland). Dundaga Castle is connected with many fairy-tales and legends.
