Duncanthrax the Bellicose is a fictional character from the Zork Universe.

Duncanthrax was the first king in the Flathead Dynasty. He overthrew Zilbo III, the last king of the Entharion Dynasty. His military conquests were responsible for most of the territories controlled by Quendor. He conquered the Westlands from 660-662 AE and defeated the Antharian Armada at the Battle of Fort Griffspotter in 665 AE, gaining Quendor control of the Great Sea. He build the castle at Egreth in 660 AE and the seat of royal power would remain there until the rule of Dimwit Flathead. In 666 AE, Duncanthrax further expanded Quendor with the discovery of the underground caverns and an invasion of the Eastlands, including the Diablo Massacre at Zorbel Pass and the decisive battle of Globby Hills in which be buried the opposing army's champion orgre in granola.

Duncanthrax authored the Unnatural Acts in 672 AE. Toward the end of his rule, in 680 AE the kingdom's budget was as follows: 33% Military, 8% Royal Bureaucracy, 54% Construction of Caverns, 5% Other.
